KITCHEN HELPER/SERVER
Supervisor: Kitchen & General Managers Salary Range: PSE Salary Schedule Location/Assignment:Ancient Lakes Elementary
Conditions of work: 180 Days/ 3 Hours
SUMMARY:
The position of Kitchen Helper/Server assists with the preparation and distribution of food items for consumption by students and school personnel; maintaining kitchen facility in a sanitary condition..
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Assists with the responsibility for the security of foods and supplies, along with checking that all equipment is in working condition and notifies the appropriate authority when repairs are needed. • Prepares and delivers fresh fruit and vegetable snacks to students. • Assists planning, preparation, and serving of food. • Assists and follows all current sanitation and food safety standards and regulations; maintaining neat, clean, safe and sanitized food service areas. • Assist with the supervision of student meal service to ensure that all regulatory requirements are met. • Assists with making sure meals are served on time and never delayed due to incomplete preparation activities. • Assists with the inventory of all foods, supplies, and equipment. • Assists with receiving all deliveries, checking all invoices, receipts. • Attend in service and/or safety meetings as required. • Other job duties as assigned by the Head Cook and/or Principal.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma or equivalent. • Two years of food preparation experience preferred. • Must possess current Food Handler’s Card or have the ability to obtain required. • Knowledge of State Health Food Regulations preferred. • Experience with the use of a computer. • Ability to work successfully with students, staff, parents, and community members. • Ability to follow oral and written directions and adapt to changing situations. • Maintains an attitude of flexibility when dealing with teammates, students and building staff. • Ability to meet and maintain punctuality and attendance expectations.

180-259 Day Employees- Paid leave benefits to include 10 sick days, 10 paid holidays, and 3 personal leave days.
260 Day Employee-Paid leave benefits to include a minimum of 12 sick days, 13 paid holiday and 3 personal leave days and a minimum of 10 days’ vacation after the first year.
*Benefits may be prorated based upon date of hire/hours per day.
